"A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether his is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both."
- Francois A. R. Chateaubriand
I am a ‘lifestyle based’ alpinist based out of Canmore, Alberta, Canada. Since I first tried climbing in 1994 I have concentrated much of my time, passion, and talent toward climbing mountains. Rock, ice, and snow are mediums used to express what I consider my art form, my creative outlet. Although I am a Canadian Rockies climber at heart I have been fortunate to experience and travel to climb in the larger ranges including the Himalayas, Andes, Alps, and the Alaska Range.
I presently work for myself as an independent ACMG Alpine Guide and as a sales rep for the outdoor equipment vendors Petzl, Sea to Summit, and GSI. This combination of employment allows me a lifestyle intertwined with the mountain environment, culture and great people within.
As a climber I dream of climbing long, technical routes on big mountains in a fast and pure style. As a climber, guide, and outdoor industry rep I strive to embrace and share the power and beauty that the mountains can offer.
